Microsoft At War!
I was catching up on some groklaw news picks and found myself reading this little gem. It’s a list of excerpts from James Plamondon in Exhibit plex_2456. What follows is a rant, you’ve been warned.
Reading this I felt sorry for James, not like one would feel sorry for a cute little pig about to be made into sausages but more like feeling sorry for Darth Vader as he realises his fate is at Darth Sidius’s side. The guy is evil and I don’t mean in any over dramatic way, the guy admits it.
What is disturbing is the way in which he objectifies people, turning social relationships into controllable terms of negotiation. It’s the kind of sickness that must inflict every red braces wearing socio-path in wall street to the cape wearing dictators in far flung tropical countries of fantasy.
What is it that turns a man’s life into nothing more than a string of social engagements where the act of being friendly is all an act to exert control and dominance in some game? What is it that leads a person into believing that using other people with underhanded socio-abuse is something to hold up as a badge of honour.
I get accused of hating Microsoft, well Martin so why do you hate? Actually I have nothing against the basic premise of outmoded and nostalgic software production methodologies they embody. I instead reserve my righteous contempt for the culture that the people at the top there cultivate, their abuses of political and social power which have absolutely nothing to do with economics.
Notice the language in use, it’s very telling of where James draws the line of morality, it’s *way* over there where most other people would have stopped already. The language shows that this is a war with allys and enemies, mercenaries to be bought and battles to win. Oh sure Free Software isn’t about morality, that’s just about economic efficiency, social cooperation and trading standards. On the other hand Microsoft…
…Perhaps bug one is more than just stopping an economic drain and industrial stupidity, perhaps it’s also for some about sticking two fingers up to the industrial socio-paths. Those who would gladdy use their friends as shields or weapons and who think of their actions as nothing but a big game where those who break the social rules get to win.
End of rant, next time join me in a celebration of cute bunnies and puppies.

This is the methodology of Capitalism and in particular the use of money. People behave this way in order to dominate because the goal of the society is to attain wealth and political power.
As long as the world society values money and continues the use of money, then there will be continues wars, crime, and poverty.
It is a common mistake made by many to assume that others are like them, and in so doing to fail to comprehend the true nature of those others. It is incomprehensible to an ensouled human who has compassion and love, that there can be others, as you called them, sociopaths, who have no remorse for hurting others. There are two primary flavors of remorseless and soulless sociopaths playing on the surface of Ter-Ra… organic portals, and corporations. The biggest mistake humanity made was giving these soulless corporations equal legal status with ensouled humans. As for the organic portals, who comprise 50% of humanity, you may be able to hear the paradigm of the “Smiths”, the “agents” of “The Matrix” trilogy… they represent the role of organic portals in this reality. The organic portals are the drinking straws “the machines” (4th density energy parasites) use to feed on the life-force energy (mana, prana, chi) of ensouled humans who are the batteries in their power plant, the kept herd ranched by them as their sustenance, the same way we keep “domesticated” (imprisoned / enslaved) “lower” animals like cattle, or the cute little pigs about to be made into sausage. Welcome to the world of the real, Neo, where most of the organic portals blend in so well you never notice them, until they morph into “Smiths” and carry out an overt sociopathic act. The most pressing problem is that we’ve stopped noticing when corporations do the same: http://www.thecorporation.com/
and you will find organic portals at the top levels of all governments and corporations, guaranteeing that all of humanity now lives in a sociopathic reality. This is the actual cause we must address to heal the planet, or the miserable little portion of it we call “the economy”, or the war of corporateware versus Free and Open Source Software.
There were plenty of sociopaths before corporations existed. Please see the Roman empire as a great example. Next look at the royalty of England, France, Germany, Russia, and all the rest of the countries BEFORE corporations were even invented.
Michael: And yet every one of those has been defeated through various revolutions which attempted to re-assert individual freedom and now theocracies and tyrannies are considered improper. Notice also how they compare politically, interesting that since corporations aren’t supposed to be political, just economic organisation.
“And yet every one of those has been defeated through various revolutions which attempted to re-assert individual freedom and now theocracies and tyrannies are considered improper”
Last I checked, England still has Royalty and they call themselves King and Queen.
Who considers Theocracies and Tyrannies improper?
Such governments exist today and are promoted by the USA as long as the USA has control over the ruling parties.
I dropped out because I noticed a growing number of Microsoft friendly people at forums. I don’t mean the normal ones you would have seen about five years back. But the ones that really jump on you when you say you are not crazy or even hate Microsoft, their operating system, etc. I started to wonder who many of these people where, I think I may know now. I have been with Linux long enough to get by on my own. But I am wondering how this is influencing those just starting out with Linux.
Microsoft has had questionable business practices dating back to their start. Seems that people forget what they have done in the past. It is one thing to own a business, to want to make a profit. But to use tactics like they are goes beyond capitalism and into Corporatism/insanity.

Michael: There are exceptions, but go and ask people on the street if they support dictators, usually the answer is no.
Wonderful epxlnataion of facts available here.
