The reality is that 12% of the people in the USA are in poverty and over 2 million people are in jail. The USA is currently murdering people in Iraq and Afghanistan. The only political party I know of that somewhat addresses these issues is the green party. However, I do not think there are any political parties in the USA that fully understand the causes of these social problems. But there are many people that have been forced to think about their society because of losing their ability to survive (getting laid off, losing their houses, and etc). People are very angry with the government because they blindly put their "faith" into the government for their security. When they realised that their faith was misplaced, they want to do something about it. Unfortunately, the Tea Party and other such groups aren't addressing the real problems of society. So even if such parties "remove the corrupt politicians", the problems will not go away and will resurface in the future. Either it's very attractive to the right wing authoritarians but isn't really their party, or it's really a Fox News inspired set of rallies confused about what exactly they're trying to say. I saw no real tax reduction rationality, only anti-socialist propaganda (and even that didn't have much substance to it). A strange and uninspired event IMO. Here in Chicago, there is a Democratic Tea Party. Now if all you watch is MSNBC, then yes, the Tea Party is nothing but a bunch of right-wing nut jobs. MSNBC also only shows the ignorant tea partiers. Today in Chicago you will have the Tax Day Tea Party, the Democratic Tea Party, and I just found out from a friend that him and his Socialist pals will be down there as well handing out fliers.
