LeAnn Rimes likes Debian?

The human brain has to decode a lot of information and sometimes it just gets things wrong, especially when it comes to language. Songs are a big example, mishearing lyrics is a huge internet meme that’s worth exploring for a good laugh.

What I found amusing was what I keep on hearing in LeAnn Rimes’ “Right Kind of Wrong”:

I should try to run, but I just can’t seem to.
Every time I run, your the one I run to.
Can’t do without… what you do to me…
I don’t care if I’m into Debian!

Of course I think it’s suppose to be “I don’t care if I’m in too deep, yeah!” but the way it’s sung makes it sound like she’s into Debian and doesn’t care. Anything to get FOSS out there into the media I guess. :-D

Is it really Deeebian? I always thought it was Deb-Ian.

I think Deebian is as wrong as You-buntu.

Your right, but my mind is flexible for either.

Dude, you write some good posts but seriously… do us a favor and change the title to something that doesn’t mislead. Like “I can’t understand the words of an American Singer and so I thought Leann Rimes liked Debian”…

  4. There’s this one song where this girl sings “My compass isn’t working” and I always hear “My compiz isn’t working” :)

Online blogger has misleading article title… in other news dog bites man.

  6. Ron says:

Lee Ann Rimes likes Debian? Well, Beyonce codes Gentoo – so take THAT!! (hahahah)

:D This was cool. So what if she doesn’t really say Debian, Broc? :) Twisting words for a little fun doesn’t mean we’re doing something wrong. :) We shouldn’t even try being dead serious all the time.

    “My compiz isn’t working”… LOL!
