I just found this random image from an image search, but I’m not sure where it’s from. Or even what it says, but I presume it’s something to do with “Linux” and windows vista. Although interestingly the first word is Canonical.

Translation?

A quick and dirty translation :
“Canonical close ubuntu satanic edition ’s store and finally allow it to re-open”
The penguin in the background say something like “In hindsight they aren’t so bad”
And it’s from clubic.com, we can say that this is a kind of a French equivalent of
http://www.xbitlabs.com/
It is from a French website clubic.com and Flock is an humorist who draws for this website. The picture is from him. While French is my mother tongue, I am not sure I understand the meaning of the picture correctly!
The sentence atop says: “Canocical first decides to close the satanic Ubuntu shop before changing its mind and giving them a license”
The penguin says: “After all (literally: with retrospect) their ideas (the one from the satanic ubuntu shop) were not so bad”
I think it relates to the fact that while being satanic, the satanic ubuntu shop wants to kill Windows and that the idea is not bad.
I do not know where the idea of a satanic ubuntu shop comes from. Humorists are not always well understood…
reagrds,
Antoine
It’s French, the translation is on Ubuntu satanic news:
http://ubuntusatanic.org/news/cartoon/
Sorry, it’s stupid, this cartoon was already translated here
http://ubuntusatanic.org/news/cartoon/
It’s french dude, means “Canonical forces ubuntu satanic’s store to close, before ultimately according it a license” and “Thinking about it, they’re not all that bad”.
A possible translation from French :
“Canonical makes the ubuntu satanic store close and then eventually grants it a licence.”
In the bubble:
“In hindsight, you can think they don’t have to be bad people.”
Google Translate (French) says:
“Canonical is closing the store ubuntu satanic then finally granted him a license with hindsight you say they are not necessarily a bad back”
Not sure I get it…
Canonical is closing Ubuntu Satanic Edition store then finally grants them a license.
«After all, they are not really that bad»
Bad & Fast translation
Canonical is closing the Ubuntu Satanic Store, then grants it a license.
“If you take a step back, you’ll see that they mean well.”
Clubic is a famous French IT news website.
This image is related to this news : http://www.clubic.com/actualite-283724-canonical-ubuntu-satanic.html
Quick translation (tired) : “Canonical forces the shop of Ubuntu Satanic to close down and then finally grant it a license”
“With hindsight, you might think they aren’t necessarily bad”
Hi there,
I’m French, so maybe i can help
.
This picture has been shown on Clubic (http://www.clubic.com/) which is a website talking about new technologie and computing.
This picture was about the Ubuntu Satanic Edtion (http://ubuntusatanic.org/news/). Canonical asked to don’t use the name Ubuntu (because Mark thought it could harms the Ubuntu & Canonical’s notoriety).
Many people wasn’t happy about that idea, because Ubuntu & free software are for everybody without discrimination. So finally Mark decided to allow Ubuntu Satanic Edtion to use the name Ubuntu.
This picture is funny because it shows that Mark understood Ubuntu Satanic Edtion had the same aim that Canonical, kick Window’s ass. So as long as it help to destroy the ennemy you can use Ubuntu’s name.
ps: the drawer is called Flock.

Some context here: http://ubuntusatanic.org/news/
Translations are accurate. It boils down to “the ennemie of my ennemies are my friends.” But even in french, I needed a few seconds to get it.
and, it comes from that guy: http://www.dessincretin.com/dotclear/index.php?tag/Flock
(not necessarily linux oriented, nor SFW)
Its more than likely because the copyright issue with the ubuntu trademark in the satanic edition’s shop a couple of months back. It was just a mix up really. Not too funny though.
The “license” that was given to them in the cartoon is a copy of Windows – that’s the box that the penguin is stabbing.
It’s funnier when you understand that.
