Putting up a "please switch to a decent web browser, such as..." message, like YouTube does/did for IE6 users, should do the trick for most people, even for those who didn't know they were using a web browser in the first place. I used to think that Microsoft were unable to improve their browser, but it turns out they're just unwilling to. Internet Explorer? No SVG support? Simply let this piece of junk die already.
