Setting up the Lab
Posted in Programming and Technical on February 19th, 2009 by doctormoHere in Boston I’m helping a local community center get set up with more advanced technology. Obviously I have access to Free Software and plenty of knowledge about how it works.
So the most important aspect of my task is training. No doubt about it that this place has lacked any sort of training or real maintenance for a long time.
I’m also researching some of the technologies that I’ve no previously had the opportunity to try out. Things like clonezilla, fog, tftp, dhcp servers and PXE booting, that’s what I’ve been up to this week. If I can manage to get something good working, I’ll get OpenLDAP and maybe some other tools for next week.
